I havnt been on a bike for the last 8 years and thought its time to start riding again.

I did get my hands onto a 1999 Klein Attitude Race which has made its way over to Australia from Germany after i bought it off ebay.

I know its not a pre trek Klein, but my uncle always had a nice Klein back in the day that i envied and when i randomly came across this one i just had to buy it.

At the moment im using it for my daily commute (maybe not so much in the rain) that is why i went with 1x9 and slick tyres to shed some weight.

Cool ride, welcome aboard.

I was actually thinking about Klein Attitudes earlier today.. I had a Quantum in my teens & had my track bike painted as per the pink/white/green of the early attitudes..

That's fairly random..

Edit: retro Klein porn required...

That bike sure has an identity crisis, but it's hot! Great first post :peace:

I did try to reply with a quote to 2 people here yesterday, but it hasn't been approved yet? maybe a normal reply will be faster...? Will replies always be moderated or is this only until the 10th, 20th post etc? ( i read a sticky newbie thread, but couldn't find anything on it)

anyway:

@ajay: yes, im not quite used to the look of the slick tyres myself, but it sure does make sense riding it on tarmac 99% of the time.

@bennyp1: about 75-100kms.

Very nice! Always liked Kleins. I remember riding a couple including a Mantra at a test day at Leisure lakes bikes in the UK in about 2000

There's an old heavy set bloke I see regular riding along the roads close to my place, he's riding an old Klein... we always exchange nods. Good to see a bloke (probably my age'ish actulaay) riding full stop, but reliving his youth on a bike he maybe didnt have back then, or maybe he did and has rebirthed it.

Great looking bike, good to see it out there.

I love the slick look  I can see myself railing down the off ramp on Anzac bridge with it, perfect commuter wars weapon.

I always lusted after an orangey Klein at Clarence St ... no idea what model ... I remember going in there at lunch when I first started working in town and thinking how bloody expensive yet pretty the puppy was.

I always wanted a pre-Trek Attitude in gator linear fade, or the dually Mantra.

I got this gator linear fade Pinnacle though, so it's not all bad.

Nice welds on your pinnacle! Unfortunately they are not quite as nice any more on my 1999 attitude :(

But all the "proper" Kleins are now going for ridiculous money on ebay. there are a few for 10k+ and that is just a bit too much for a commuter.

i still have this SID waiting to go into the bike. It should match the blue a little better than the current Manitou Mars does.

Ahh I love all these bikes!

Mine isn't a old one, post Trek, but it's from a time when I was getting into the sport so I couldn't resist it when it popped up..

As promised some nicer pictures of the bike. I did replace the Manitou Mars with a SID Race Carbon which matches the blue better and is lighter anyway.
Im thinking to remove the large SID stickers on the outside so it looks cleaner, opinions?
