well im looking to mount my iphone on my bike how ever i do not like the idea of handle bar mounted one as it seem to juts be asking for trouble.

Is there a decent one that will mount to a frame? or even better allow one to be mounte dtoa frame while still in a case such as a otter case.

cheers

A mate of mine has one of those pouches that wraps around on your bicep for when you're jogging etc.

He just wraps it around the top tube hard against the headtube and it works perfect. His is waterproof too, and you can still use the phone. It's a Belkin I think.

wouldnt be a bad idea. at the moment with strava i start app put in pocket do button up and go for it it like to pause it at lights/traffic at 6am when i go to work i make great pace. on teh way home at 4pm it kaos and i loose time and alwasy luck out with lights and i got to cross a very busy roundabout.

Strava Laws

When you get to the lights , you yell out STRAVA ! Then proceed - it's been legislated as an exception for traffic law

It's nice to hear those bicep holders have another use, coz as holders for mountain biking on your arm they are completely useless

Use Cyclemeter instead. Auto-pause and voice updates, best cycle app out there.

EDIT - Do you listen to audio while you're riding, or just use the app?

i do have taht cycle app but i still prefer strava.

Do u sell ones that fit onto the dandle bars or the frame. i want some thing that will also protect it.

nah just use the app no music.

also i find on the way to work and home i use teh same route but may change up side of road imon depending on traffic, how ever elvation traveled is 15m on way to work and 53m on wya home surely one would be 15m and then the other -15m.

I dont drive the ute much no or stop to do other stuff on the way home as i want to beat my own records ha ha today i rode past 2 servos and 1 corner store to try to beat my PB then when i got to work i hope dinto the work car and went strightto the servo idrove pastto get a drink.

Mind u i have only had the bike since thurs ha ha

Topeak make multiple different styles from weatherproof to swivel/pivot. We get them in at work and sell a fair few, i don't see the need/appeal, but their quality is top notch.

Google Ram Mounts. They make the best iPhone mounts I've seen. If you want something to protect the phone, you may be better off getting a Ram mount or similar and just mounting it on the handlebars in an Otterbox case.

hey gros whats wrong with the one i use? mines full of padding to suit my galaxy s size, so if you pulled it out an i phone in an otterbox should fit ok. its an arkon and it cost like 20 something off ebay and protected my phone on my big stack the other weekend. (yea it went flying off my bars, but my phone didnt break and either did the mount so it just popped back on its swivel mount. just mount it as far in as possible and they are fairly safe. the dude at the giant store thought it looked great compared to some other types out there. its water resistant and pretty tough built.

as for strava, it does take into account stopping. it will tell you your overall time and your actual moving time.

I did like your case I might see if it will fit in. I just think on top of handlebars is a bit in the open. If its on the frame it would be more protected.

Yea the new version just started to show this still don't like the slow down and back down again. So I've been going hard into lights and braking hard.

My free hub has issues though and I'm outta town for 2 weeks.

I've also got a contour HD 1080p cam of my apprentice for $50

you'll find anywhere on the bike will be dangerous for the phone if you have a big off. did you see the state of my drink holder after my spill? and thats inside the frame lol. 50 bucks! whats wrong with it/him? lol

Nothing he had a dirt cheap Memory card in it not even class 4 it was very jumpy. I bought a 16gb class 10 works perfect. oh the battery holder red thingo broke so he dodged that up but it makes no difference when filming.

I bought a handlebar mount for it as well. But still owes me like $80 max.

His the guy that done the 6hr race by himself non stop. His crazy. But I felt guilty so gave home a new hdd to fix his lappy and I'll give him a few bottles of squencher as he loves that shit and I get it 4 free
