Hi Rotorburners,

I'm sure that you have all heard that Intense are bringing out some new 27.5 (650b) frames, but I thought I'd share some info and pics with you.

The first two images are of the new Tracer 27.5. It is an all new frame for Intense, featuring 5.5 - 6" (142 - 150mm) travel controlled by a kashima coat RP23 shock, tapered head tube, reverb stealth cable routing and G1 dropouts. Geo with a 150mm fork is 67 deg h/a, 13.25 bbh and 17" stays, keeping it as close as possible to thr already awesome Tracer 2 geo with a small tweak. Standard colours are Red, Flouro Green, Chrome Black and Works Raw - these choices are now standard across all aluminium models out of the U.S.. Price T.B.A. soon.

Next, pics 3 and 4 are of the Carbine 27.5: This is an existing frame with a dropout upgrade. New dropouts will mirror the geo of the Tracer 27.5 using existing frame architecture and retaining plenty of room for a burly tyre like a 2.35 Nevegal in the rear. Dropouts will be available in October and pricing is T.B.A. Here is a pic of prototype dropouts that Jeff (Steber) sent me recently, so look out for one of these things out on the trail soon!

UPDATE:

The T275 landed at Monza HQ today along with some other sweet goodies:http://www.rotorburn.com/forums/showthread.php?247673-New-Intense-29er-Guess-who-showed-up-today

So yep I know you've seen it before, but thought I'd show you anyway (see bottom image). Ships with Kashima RP23 CTD this a whole new frame. It is not a Tracer 2 with (650b) dropouts. FYI the colour does not look like this, it's just that it's so bright it maxxes out the green levels on my DSLR. Check the other images in the thread to see what it looks like, because it looks exactly like the advertised images, NOT mint green - it's primo...

My lord that red Carbine looks awesome! I've never really liked the look of any Intense (read as Frankenstein) but that looks mickey mouse!
As far as looks go when ogling a 26 inch bike, a 29 inch and a 27.5 inch, I'll say that a 27.5 inch looks way less mongoloid than a 29 inch. I hope that size wheel is the other option in years to come instead of the ugly 29 inch look.

Yeah, I've been keeping my eye on KTM, with a rich history in moto they should be able to come up with something that rides well. It looks to be well made, shame about how it looks though.

It's been a long while since the bicycle division had any connection to the Motos.

I also learned along the way that KTM was a bicycle company first!

"Penton approached the KTM company, who at the time built bicycles and mopeds, to build a light-weight off-road motorcycle."
