I have (quite a few times more than I would like in the past 3-4 weeks) but I think he is under a bit of pressure, not trying to not hassle him too much ;)

The shipping idea he came up with has turned a bit pear shaped, don't know if its shipping times, delays, customs clearance or whatever.

The world is in a state of delay and I was ok with that but the decision to ship the frame to the distributor was a major fuck up.

It could have been with me 4-5 weeks ago with DHL express.
Kudos for being patient. Must really want this!

Website says next batch is Aug 21 so fingers crossed you actually have something in the shipping chain somewhere.

Looked at the Dreadnought yet?

I'm committed as I have bought all the parts, I suppose 90% of them can be transferred but shock, seatpost and headset might not.

They have had my deposit since the beginning of Nov, now sitting on 5k for 5-6 weeks, I'll be pretty pissed if it doesn't turn up next week.

Is there no way they can get one to you sooner, and then you return the original one when it finally arrives?

I'm reasonably patient but after that length of time I'd want some appeasement.

Has excellent taste.

You could have bought Bitcoin back then and then ordered yourself 4 frames...

I've had custom stuff made and imported from Asia within 3 months (arriving next week).... Not to mention it was shipped by sea.

I'd hit up Ben and request the frame arrive in a month or else your going elsewhere. Business is business.

Its apparently in Australia

Ben said the Aus distributor was getting the shipment "tomorrow", that was on the Wed 10th March, so the shipment arrived Thur 11th March, he said hopefully he can ship it to me on Friday (12th March) and that I would probably get it at the beginning of the week... which was meant to be sometime in the past 10 days.

I sent him an update about 6pm Friday to let him know nothing had arrived during the week, that would have been around 7:30am Friday morning in Scotland but he has not replied yet.

Hoping it is going to turn up next week, I asked Ben to get me a courier tracking number from the Aus Distributor on 10th March to actually see the movement in Australia and confirm has landed on Aus soil. So far nobody has confirmed its here, in the country.

Nearly 4 months now from the original estimated arrival time.

Still pretty keen to get this frame but if it really does turns to shit, I'll join the queue for a Druid in cosmic eggplant.

A bit over forked for it with the DVO Onyx but looks like most of the build kit will bolt straight on.

Dreadnought, would be another option.

Easy travel change on the Onyx and just the right amount of stiffness.

Any luck? Summit cycles has a large in cosmic eggplant (what a name)

Spoke to Scotland on the phone last night, delays in everything, excuses for everything and an unspoken topic of the bad decision to ship my frame to Australia with the Distros stock instead of the original discussed direct shipping.

Lets say even now, it should be in my hands as its been in Aus for apparently 6 days but still has not moved from where ever the Distro is located... was originally told it arrived 2 weeks ago BTW.

I have emailed again this morning asking/demanding for it to be sent express courier to me TODAY or I'll be without it for Easters 5 day riding trip.

5 months since order, 5 weeks since full payment, 4 months with no FS bike, riding a fucking spare Nukeproof Scout HT, promises of it will 'be with you next week' 'be there Monday' 'be there in the next few days' 'what, have you not got it yet', that was all in the past 5 weeks... its been on Aus soil for 6 days and nobody's in a rush to ship it to me.

Off to look at some purple porn at Summit cycles...

Sounds like time to reverse those payments!

More practically - did you pay via PayPal? Can you raise a case with them or your card provider?

Max fork for Druid is 150mm or 571 A2C or it voids the warranty. Onyx only goes to 160 or can it go lower?

Bummer to hear. Hope it shows soon.

Was full CC payment.

I'm going to just have to wait for the frame, the shipping nonsense has definitely taken the shine off it.

Still speaking to Ben amicably but he sounds surprised that I haven't got it yet, which is strange.

I believe where NSD set it for me currently at 160mm is minimum.

The large Druid may be too big, the med is a few mm bigger which would be ok.

Will just have to wait... reckon I'll call Scotland again tonight and have another chat if I dont get an early email reply :(

Onyx at 160mm travel is 572mm A2C. 1mm won't/shouldn't void your warranty.

I had my Onyx down to 140 travel and it worked fine.

The distro in Aus is EMTB Australia....have you spoken with him?

You can lower an Onyx more, but its better not to do it with the 10mm travel spacers as it affects the neg coil spring. If you look up dvo_nz on insta, Jesse Patel is the NZ DVO dude, puts up lots of helpful stuff there and on his FB page, also has a pic a few posts back of a custom spacer to make the 150 work properly.

Ben was great with me when I had something that needed attention. I really hope it turns up in time and you get it built without issues.
I think Ben has no control of it... but he could have sent it to me direct, that was the root of all the issues.

The distro in Aus is EMTB Australia....have you spoken with him?
Deviate (Scotland) said I would deal with them directly for any issues as I bought direct from them, the Aus Distro was just package forwarding.

I wouldn't go over his head unless I though dodgy shit was going down.

What's been done to make you feel good about it?
Would be feeling better if one of the boxes were in my garage, tomorrow yesterday weeks ago !
