So I need some more protection... on the trails that is. I've been looking at the 661 Evo full face (http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=57595) but they don't have any in red and black. Any idea's on where I can get one?
If I can't get one online somewhere, I'll just go with the 661 Comp full face (http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=72416) if they're good of course.

Also, I need a good set of goggles. Nothing too ridiculously expensive. Just ones that do a good job, and light up the trail (yellow lenses etc.)

Then some shinnies. Don't wanna go ripping my leg off with the Nukeproof pedals, the pins are gnarly! I was just thinking of the 661 Comp (http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=72482)

Anyway, if there's anything better and about the same price then do tell me please :)

Any of the 661 stuff is fine, not the best but its really good value. All Their helmets are built to certain standards and will be good quality. The more expensive models will but be a little bit lighter or have better ventilation.

I have the 661 race knee/shin gaurds and I think they are great, they have a sleeve that wraps around your knee which means they don't budge at all in a stack but you ha e to take your shoes off to put them on, I thinks it's worth the hassle. The comp gaurds don't have the sleeve so are easier to take on and off but might slide around a bit

Goggles: Oakley O-frame have been the standard go-to model for years. They last long, fit well, are not overly expensive, and you can get replacement lenses for them just about anywhere including tinted, mirror etc.

I use a 661 evo, pretty good ventilation, wonderfully light and tough as shit. I've had a few good crashes and wacked my head on rocks twice and didn't even find a mark on the helmet. Had it for 2 years now and it still looks great. I use TLD shin/knee guards (same as Peaty) they're light as, pretty minimalist, the velcro straps don't rub or come down and protecting shin/knee there's a sorta lip that fits over your kneecap so when you hit the dirt the guard wont come off ya knee. Oh I run Answer pedals which are just as gnarly as anyones. Red'n'black ? Ithink you'd have to keep your mouse looking there are heaps of colours we don't get or see which are released O.S like in europe you'll have to be lucky. I actually like those new "down-amatics" by urge....theyre just as cheap as an evo and you may be able to get a red one.

just go for the comp they work just as fine have had mine for about 2 years now and no faults at all just except they looks not as good as a d3 or something. with gogglessomething that lights up the trails when its dark and is perfect when its sunny is the fox future goggles. ive had the set for about a year moving from smith and have tired oakleys and spys and nothing compares to these.there abit expensive but the lense orks so well and it really is scratch and fog resistant.although the lense scratches on the outside and in u dont notice them like you do in clear lenses because of the coloured lexan lense. http://www.btosports.com/p/Fox-2012-Main-Future-Goggle
as far as shinnies go i run flats aswell and have never slipped a pedal u just have to have a good pedal and shoe combinations and u will never slip a pedal. 510 freeriders work amazing with just about any pedal so i see no need for shinnies and if your wearing pants then she'l be right

Haha, totally forgot about this thing.

I stuck with the 661 helmet and shinnies and ended up going with Thor Hero goggles I think and just got some blue and yellow lenses.

Haven't been able to ride with them yet but the helmet feels wicked as! Soooooo light!
