Couldn't find this up anywhere but apolagies if I am just blind.

Now would be a good' time as any if you want a fury team.

Even when you take $1000 off the fury 1 and 2, the specs still seem lower than what I want to see...:02.47-tranquillity:

The Mongoose Boot'r Expert however....

At just over 4k they appear well spec'd for the price, and at just over 3k they seem like a steal.

"Available in store only"

How many stores actually stock these? Most shops i've been into seem to focus on road and the family bikes.

Servicing and support is usually a bit iffy as well a lot of the time.

I don't have any experience with them. Last time I was in a store was 10 years ago.

I will check out my local one tonight, suss it out and report back!

Bought a 2011 Mongoose booter foreman from Goldcross about 4-5 months ago. 30% off, and then crunched them for another $500 bucks off. $2500 for a good spec bike. Gotta be stoked with that. Dont take the bike back there for services though. Dont seem to have much of an idea when it comes to downhill shit.

Cheers for the heads up. It's good to know that they may go even lower.

Was the foreman equivelant to the expert (second most top model) ?

Just went to local goldcross, wanted to look at a bootr, wandered around for about 10 mins (no DH bikes on floor), no one asked me if I wanted help, decided that they wouldnt, I walked up to them:

"Hi, do you have any mongoose bootrs?"

"ummm no, but hang on ill check on the comp incase they are out back"

"No probs"

"hmmm we don't have any...."

"Ok, can you tell me where in melbourne does"

"What size?"

"medium, expert model"

"hmmm, it seems that no where has them"

"???(WTF)????....they are on sale at the moment says in store only on your website..."

Manager finishes with customer and comes to the desk...

I then get a story about how they wouldnt have 2012 models on sale, how they hadnt been released yet, they wouldn't be on the floor until atleast mid-late feb, then I got a rant about how they don't make the prices and how annoyign head office is and I couldnt get a word in..

What, The, F%CK. I just said, "errr..ok, thanks" and marched out of there. Possibly the worst customer service ever. I wanted a solution, I clearly said I would drive anywhere in melbourne, and I just get nothing but pushback and negativity.

YOU SURE know how to sell bikes goldcross cycles!
/rant over

That's pretty much my experiences with every Goldcross/99Bikes store I've ever been in... I asked them for a Bottom bracket for a glory once. They thought I was lying and told me to shop elsewhere. I did.

It all depends on what goldcross. I work at one with several other downhill riders. We are very passionate about downhill and riding. But we do find it hard when people coming in asking for specific parts such as bottom brackets ect and we dont have them as our main customers are family or people doing it for fitness ect. But we do try to help the, such as order the part.

I am a manager of one of the QLD stores, and the blokes that I have working for me are on the money. And I have been racing DH and 4x in Australia for years. Shame you had a shitty bloke helping you, I would have been happy to sell you the one I have on my shop floor.

i work at ivanhoe cycles and for the sales staff to not even ask if they can get one in for you is just poor. if we dont have a part for a customer, we order it in. simple as that. no extra fees or anything. its just a shame for goldcross that their staff aren't willing to go the extra mile, hence this display of bad publicity that hundreds of riders will view.

i have recently bought two meridas from goldcross a 140 1500d and a team 900 which i got at very good prices. They have a price match policy which means get onto bike exchange find the bike you want at the lowest prices possible and then go see them. the geelong manager was very helpful but beyond him forget it. they through in some free services and spares etc, etc. But set up of bike was way off and in fact several things on both bikes left dangerously loose.understanding correct sizing and shocker set up etc was beyond anyone other than manager or other staff care factor was missing.Just bought a new specialised demo 8 from berettas bike hub and couldnt be more happy with service or price. They Sourced a dh bike from melbourne, took me out after hours to the you yangs to set bike up specifically to me and show me some techniques to use riding that type of bike. No pressure to buy the bike and then when i did buy it i got a great deal with them, every cent counts with these bikes! Then i took my 140 to get serviced at berettas(wouldnt use my free services at gold cross) and they found stripped threads in derauiller brackets etc on a new bike. They fixed it all up and some things i damaged with my crashes within their service labour charge!($45.00) Cant recommend these guys enough

Maybe the '12 boot'rs havent made it to VIC yet - any thoughts as an employee?

I phoned another local store and they were more helpful - however by that time I had lost my interest in buying from them on this occasion. Or even making them to go any trouble...

Thanks all for the responses. I'm level-headed enough to realise this was a minority occurance, and I was probably asking the wrong people about the wrong bike (limited experience w/ DH).
