extending the length of a seatpost

i was just wondering if there is a way of extending the tube of the seat post because my seat post is too small and i want to extend it

BBB make a steerer extender which would be exactly the same thing, probably a different size. They'd probably have something you could use.

Which would in turn be dodgy as just as the steerer extenders and probably cost more than a seat post.

Yeah, just buy a new one mate.
For starters there is no easy way to do it, and the engineering lengths you'd have to go to just to ensure that the seatpost was within safety tolerences would take ages, and lots of money.

It only works on steel rims with purple alloy nipples because of the difference in expansion rates. But I'm sure you knew that.

Just bend the rails on your seat down a bit, it will give you extra height.
