Saw a 'leccy Santa Cruz on the wall at BE...that will be 22k thanks, cash or card?

I'm definitely E curious but no way I'm going to commit that kind of coin first up.
A group buy could give us some pricing relief ( a ZEB fork is 'only' 700 bucks on the website @Calvin27 linked ) surely?
I've done a little reading but still think the build option could work out. Same as our meat powered bikes ...we tinker to produce exactly what we want.
Anther option could be to strip better fork/ wheels, etc off one of my bikes and get an E Marin or similar on sale? Or drip feed upgrades?

Decent bikes for the money, I ride occasionally with blokes on an E2 and E1 Alpine Trail. Same bike, just better components between 1 & 2, if you have bits to swap, the E1 and upgrade would be a great way to get a really good priced ebike.

Though the bloke on the E1 has never swapped a thing, still standard.

Is that a typo? Seems a lot more than most cars!

Actually on the radar to get my learners again. Ebike prices are really dumb compared to motos, e-moto just makes this even more obvious! It's almost as if the derailleur is the most expensive part on a bicycle!

I thought about going down the build a Chinese E-Mtb a couple of years ago and once again did the maths and roughly it would cost me about $8000 probally more to build one up these days. I can get a new Giant reign e-mtb for that money or pay $2000 more and get a Mondraker Crafty carbon. While the Bafang are good motors I'm not that sure about Chinese E-mtb frames?
Just brought my first Ebike and went the 2024 Giant Reign e +1 brand new for $7,900 , Giant shop in frankston had it sitting on their floor at full price for a few months and then decided they are more of a road bike shop anyway and wanted it gone ,

I mostly want the bike for shuttle days on down hill runs , its exceeded my expectations , its a weapon on descents

I am Looking at a Trek Tail Gen 3 or Focus Jam2. Anyone have any experience with these bike for reliability or anything to look out for.
Also do I need ride wrap? The paint on my gt sensor was prett crap and would chip if a bird feather brushed past it.
The bits I don’t like are that the m Trek does not come with a display. The Jam has some cable routing through the stem that looks like a shit fight if you want to change stems or parts.
