I am currently running with 2011 3x10 SLX. I dont use the big ring and thought i could drop some weight and improve the shifting but dropping the big ring.

Can anyone tell me what size chain ring bolts i will need to do this. I dont plan to run a bash ring/guard. I want to get the parts so i can pull it apart and put it back together in one session.

Help appreciated.

Ask for some 'track' bolts, or SS ring bolts, at your LBS.
Simple conversion, you'll just need to adjust the upper limit too (or change your front shifter, but can be done with a 3x front easy enough)

And here is a real cheapskate solution for the spacers - if you have an old chainring you no longer use (preferably alloy), just get a hacksaw out and cut nice spacers out of it.
