BORCAG Feedback

The recently released WA Trails book book was discussed.
Due to the upper levels of DEC seeing the contents of the book(of which they are not happy with), $40 000 worth of funding for planning is now being scrapped for now. The clubs have been asked to come up with funding to go ahead with the planning of the Blackwood region. Im hoping things might change after the dust has settled, but not holding my breath.
It was questioned why Boranup was not included in the book.

The go-ahead has been given to prepare a submission for the Secret whicher Trails.
Mapping by DEC is continuing with the addition of the concept plans of Margaret river being added… helping the clubs. Thanks Andrew.

The go ahead was also given for Margaret River to start taping desired track locations in Bramley National park East of Bussel Highway, getting it ready for the submission process.

A comphensive book on old railways formations throughout the southwest has been provided to us as a resource.
Hoping to tap into the rails for trails funding for linkage of trail hubs.

Richard Renn from the Cape Club did a presentation on the progress of the Meelup trails. Access to the golf course is on the cards, ie using the immediate bushlandaround the golf course(and owned by the golf course). A concept map has been made. Some of the benifits will be the use of the facilities like toilets/parking/showers/bar(must be a member of the golf club).

Next meeting 26th July
