Back wheel wobble?

Ok I have picked myself up a cheap road bike for commuting to work ... all good so far.

Have a quick question though - the back wheel seems to wobble a little under pressure, and the wheel is definitely true from close observation.

What could this be? Am I confusing the wobble with something to do with the bottom bracket?

Being far far from a mechanic or pro rider I couldn't really tell you where its coming from though something aint quite straight underneath.

Grab the wheel (when still in the frame) and wobble it from side to side, if there's any sideways movement, you probably have loose cones (for Shimano type hubs) or the bearing covers on sealed hubs may be loose.

Not something you want to keep riding on until it's fixed..

Cheers guys, the hub seems to fine (by my bush mechanics) ... the mtb is in for a service at the moment so may just swap them over when pick it up.

Cheers
