Axle to crown on Rockshox Lyrik 170mm?

I'm thinking of replacing my 160mm Pikes with some 170mm Lyriks (650b), but I can't seem to get any measurements on the axle to crown from any Rockshox dealers or the Rockshox website. Annoyingly, they only list the axle to crown for the 180mm 650bs and the 160mm 29ers.

My concern is that I don't want to raise the BB height of the bike with a potentially longer fork, but it looks like the axle to crown may be the same as a 160mm Pike due to the positioning of the axle mounts, which seem to drop down a bit on the Pikes.

Does anyone know the exact axle to crown on a 170mm 650b Lyrik?

it will be 10mm less than the 180 lyrik. i imagine the pike and the lyrik will be pretty close, if not identical for the same travel.

edit, according to RS site...
Lyrik - 572mm - 27.5"/180mm travel
Pike - 542mm - 27.5"/150mm travel

both will be 552mm at 160mm, or 562mm for a 170 lyrik.

Cool, thanks Mitch.

Now I'll have to revisit high school trigonometry to try and figure out how much a 10mm longer fork will raise my BB height.

a very crude figure is roughly half the increase in axle to crown. so around the 4-5mm mark. should put you at about 355mm...

however, you could go for the Lyrik DPA 170/140, this will drop the BB down to ~341mm in the lower setting, and ~355 in the higher setting. i've always pondered a DPA fork on my enduro, would make a very versatile bike even moreso...

edit - if you happen to be on the NSW MTB trading page on fingerbook, a set of 160's with a 170 shaft just appeared too.

Forget it, small knobs which offer little movement change to actual usable pleasure gain are not worth the rubber.

Thanks for the tip Mitch, I ended up buying these and the guy is going to set them up 170 for me. If you want to try some DPA forks I'll be selling my Pikes soon.

awesome! and you have a 160 shaft as backup if 170 is too much.
my endurbro is 29", so yours are no good to me. :pout:

be interested in hearing your feedback on the pikes vs lyriks.
