hey guys,

in my travels i found the new 2012 cannondale supersix. and lets just say its super

"Heading the list is the SuperSix Evo Ultimate. This gets the 695g ultimate frame (the weight is kept down by the use of lightweight paint) shod with DT Swiss RRC carbon tubular wheels, Zero G brakes and SRAM Red. We put this one on the scales and it tipped them at a frankly astonishing 4.9kg"

How long is it going to last. Do you have to be a 50kg teenager to ride it?

Carbon chainrings and cassette!

I'd be happy to have a road bike at 6.8kg but under 5kg I'd be scared to ride it.

I am sure people said similar things 15 years ago - happy to ride 8kg bike but scared to ride 6.8kg.

Apparently the pros are riding them in the Giro de Italia at the moment, so if it can survive a grand tour, I am sure it will work.

They might be riding the same frame, but not the same build kit. Their bikes can't be lighter than 6.8kg.

The bike in the OP is 4.38kg. It has carbon chain rings and cassette. Taking 2.4 kg from the build has got to result in some strength compromises somewhere.

That's the old Super Six, not the Evo
