I've read the whole post but am pretty sure but sorry if it's been posted before.
Pretty rad.

Looks like a frame I've got. Is it an old apollo? I'd be interested to know how it holds up to fixed riding. Thinking about transferring the parts from my current fixed bike as the frame is bigger on the old one.
Pretty sure the crank puller should be fine but considering the BB look like this

you might need a different BB tool with more "teeth"?
One of these perhaps...
I live in Canberra(pretty small place in terms of the people you regularly see riding) and have had two, quite distinctive bikes stolen and have never seen them again. Even if they were stripped I'd have thought I'd see parts from them but alas no. Had a look around the pawn shops but nothing...
Can't remember who said but I'm sure there was a quote on these forums of put triple clamps on a hardtail and you will die.
I'd be going for a single crown fork with adjustable travel. That way you can reduce the travel for DJing and then have more for DH. Something like a Pike with U turn...
Have you seen these?

Doesn't go through how to lower but has detailed instructions and good colour pictures of each step in servicing
All this talk of alley cats makes me want to give up the mountainey climes of canberra and move to a real city where I can do more than just commute on my fixie.
They're tektro : p
Any number of things. Are they slowing you down at all?
The pads could be worn, the cables could be stretched or the levers might not be set up properly.
Norco 250
Hey mate. I've got a 2005 Norco 250 frame. It's 24" wheels only and dark brown. Fairly sure it's a s/m. Great condition with a few scratches at most. Apart from postage I'd take $200
