LIVIGNO MTB WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS,
TEAM RELAY TO SPAIN, ITALY AND FRANCE

Livigno (SO), _31st august 2005. -. Spain wins the gold medal at the UCI MTB World Championships today in Livigno. The Spanish gained the first position in Team Relay thanks to Ruben Ruzafa, Gilbert Aviles, Rocio Gamonal and José Hermida. The silver medal goes to Italy with 19 seconds difference and the bronze to France with 30 seconds. The exciting race reports: after the first lap the Bui/ITA was ahead. At the second and the third round the Swiss was first, but in the final lap was the fifth, because of the perforation of the junior Ranger retroceded to the fifth position. Meanwhile from the last positions Hermida/ESP regained positions until he took the lead and gave to Spain the unexpected victory, which can be added to the others in 1999 and 2000. Tomorrow the cross country titles will be assigned to juniors males and females.
