each to their own, but BMC canned the astana contract pretty much immediately after Vino was busted.

The article Snozza linked to actually mentioned that Astana's bike and wheel sponsors are yet to be confirmed, although there is speculation they'll be riding Trek bikes.

In the photo there was a trek sitting behind Johan with sram on it...Highly unlikely trek will go without backing a pro tour team.

Having ridden a sram equipped BMC, I can tell you that not only did it look GREAT (in red and black) - it felt pretty damn fine too. I spent the next month wanting one.

...perhaps that's why last weekend's road bike ride on the ol' Norco was the first in about 4 months...

Would it be fairly safe to assume that astana will be running zipp wheels, since sram recently acquired them ?
