Any dramas replacing the Sram 11 speed chain with a Shimano one on this bike?

Going from pc 1110 to Xt hg x11

Can I reuse the Sram link?

11 speed chain. 11 speed drivetrain reduced to 7 at the rear. I guess the benefit is the straighter chain line. It creates more clearance from spokes also.

7 speed I understand. I used to run 8 speed for a while. My dh bike still has an old 9 speed set up with 11-21t cassette. You don't often need a huge range of gears rolling the bus down a hill.
