Are there any details on where the trail-head is? The gate to the sports ground is locked. Are the trails on private land?

Yes the trails are on private property, pretty sure you can't access them without permission.

We are extremely lucky to have the use of this private land & the current agreement with the landowner is that the track will only be used for the race in September. It is a fragile environment & any unauthorised use would certainly jeopardise this arrangement...not to mention the risk to your own safety...there are quite often shooters on the property...I've seen their guns & they are BIG !!
