Another option Dales is the TRP HYRD calipers with a slight mod. I'll find link i you want, but i did a small mod to mine (careful cutting and filing) and got way better pull ratio from cable brifters. This will open up more choices of lever at least.
This allowed me to run discs with Campagnolo brifters for CX racing which was supposedly not possible pre EKAR.
