Hey guys,

I'm thinking about getting a new chain, im sick of stuffing around with tensioning my old one so I'm looking at half link chains or even the the odyssey bluebird with only 1 half link.
I think i'll probably get the cult half link or the odyssey bluebird. Anyone got any experience with these snapping or stretching heaps?

Cheers

Half link is not as strong/reliable as a full link chain racing based on my experience (hollowpin excepted, they are crap).

They are good for optimising short chainstay setup so maybe the Odessey is a good compromise.

Yeah i was thinking initially to go with the odyssey just beacuse i have no real desire for a half link chain.
Its a bit cheper too

I tell everyone to just get a SRAM PC-1 nickel plated chain.
Very cheap at about $15, and a half link might be another $5 at most.
These chains are really reliable, and wrap a lot nicer around small rear cogs/drivers than chains with larger links.

i run a mechanik hollow half link, its been on there for 6 months now, haven't had the need to tension it yet though it is starting to get a bit slack. i've got no qualms with it though, it's been great.
