My kids test rode an xtc carbon 29er- loved it. They are about 5 foot nothing, and think 29er wheels just make you go faster. I think you just need to make sure the bike fits you and all should be sweet.

I think I will need one of these. Called a Hard Eddie, and it's the best-looking carbon 29er I have seen- particularly liking the HT angle- bit more 'relaxed'.
