Came off the bike yesterday on some slick off camber singletrack I failed to fully appreciate in a totally gumby JRA. Went down surprisingly hard, but after some hobbling around, swearing and looking at nearby trees for inspiration I got back on and rode it out. Even took the scenic way home.

Around 3am I realised things were not well. Currently can barely walk. I used to smile smugly at this thread. Sigh.

I used to have heaps of fun winding up older people when they were whinging about aches/pains/medical conditions by saying "Just wait 'til you're my age!" (Gets 'em spinning like a top everytime, it's golden... :p).

Having fucked up a knee at 23 I didn't get to have that kind of fun, it's felt old ever since. :( And now the other one is starting to catch up.... :rolleyes:

And as I type I notice I'm falling into your little game..... :eek:

Another day and something else hurts...... Didn't notice at the time, but I (probably) wrenched a thumb while sailing yesterday. Getting shit sorted to go riding this morning, went to unscrew the lid from my tub of Gatorade (NOT Kool-Aid!) powder to mix up my camel bag and OH FUCK! that thumb hurts! :(

Joined the regular group ride on the rough hope it'd be OK, but not to be. 3x has its advantages in versatility, but still needs a functioning right thumb to properly use the Juicy Midrange (TM), and it didn't work so had to cut the ride short. :(

Small positive is that the wrenched thumb is on the already half-munted hand, so all the injuries are confined to one, and the other is somewhat OK for its age.....
