I'm on Maxxis Rekon 2.25 EXOs. Jack of all trades, master of none, but a pretty good all round package.

who dafaq is running cushcore for XC?
A bloke we both know very well is running the XC cushcore in the rear of his Spech and says he is fitting many to XC bikes now. Apparently only 90g.

That should be enough info for you to work it out ;)

I think it's fair to say that nobody on this forum is pushing the limits of performance of an xc tyre to that extent
Because they are all on Minions here :D

As this down country label gets thrown around, slacker all day epic bikes, 120mm front SID with 35mm stanchions, 67°HA running semi lightweight high volume XC tyres the cushcore on the rear of these bikes is looking a good option.

If I was still racing XC, I would definitely have some form of insert.

The improvement in grip and tyre feel is worth it alone

Have you seen my complete lack of finesse and resulting snake-bite punctures?

(I don't actually ride proper XC, but it was an XC tyre...)
