A bloke we both know very well is running the XC cushcore in the rear of his Spech and says he is fitting many to XC bikes now. Apparently only 90g.

That should be enough info for you to work it out

As this down country label gets thrown around, slacker all day epic bikes, 120mm front SID with 35mm stanchions, 67°HA running semi lightweight high volume XC tyres the cushcore on the rear of these bikes is looking a good option.

If I was still racing XC, I would definitely have some form of insert.

The improvement in grip and tyre feel is worth it alone

I think it's fair to say that some of us are a little heavier and certainly endowed with less finesse than Nino.

(I don't actually ride proper XC, but it was an XC tyre...)
