I'm a speech writer and have been working with Bob Katter since he left the LNP.

I used to be a journalist for one of the big dailies but preferred comedy writing as reality was too depressing.
And you were worried about your morals writing for Sandilands?

Ahh Mr Katter.
He's like a modern day redneck Shakespeare.

Fitter and Turner by trade, working as CNC Machinist. It sucks. I'm currently in the process of changing careers.

Is it the work or the people? I felt the same with printing, got out for five years, now I'm back on a press for people who have half a clue about life outside of work

Criminal defence lawyer - keeping the bad guys on the streets one case at a time. In court every day dealing with the worst of humanity but it sure as hell keeps it interesting.

Somebody has to do it. At least you aren't a family law specialist.

I’ve actually near recovered from being a ranga, as I’ve gotten older it’s gone brown. Now it’s just fucking falling out. Still better than being a ginger I guess.
God damn! Your parents werent cousins were they?

Welcome to the "fuck where'd my hair go???" club. You'll find it in your arse hole, ears, back, and mouth...

A bit of both, and the pay. So many old school guys running machine shops - their attitudes are tiring. Not much in the way of progression either, I'm at the ceiling in a few areas so it's time to move on.
There's definitely some great shops around, but they're few and far between, and since the demise of automotive, the work in those areas is drying up. It's a shame though, I do enjoy the trade, but the industry/environment needs a lot of improvement.

Hurts. Requires Money. And is nerdy.
Machining is dying a horrible, slow death in australia. I went breakdown fitter after a few years as an apprentice in a CNC shop.
More interesting and pays HEAPS better, with phone/car/fuel card etc. Deffinately dirtier. And I hurt my back doing it too so theres that (big mx/dj crashes mixed with physical job. Not entirely jobs fault, but it doesn’t help hahaha).
Now going through a early adult crisis of wtf do I do once my backs sorted........ keep swinging spanners or back to study/career change?

You're moving to the country. Gonna eat a lot of peaches.

If I could get paid to eat peaches I’d be so stoked
