Who's commuting?

I think this is the way to go - and being Cairns it's not exactly cold when it rains! I just need to keep the weight off my back and the rain out of my eyes.

If it's particularly shitty outside then I'll drive.

You can also probably store some work gear at work, reducing your carry load. One of my mates used to swing past his office on sundays and drop off his week of suits for worry free commuting.

I ride with a weighty backpack most days (the super bike lock and a couple of nangs in case of flats stack up surprising fast). The hard part about riding to work in the rain isnt the temp, it is overcoming how soul crushing life is that we waste our lives doing that sort of shit rather than fun stuff.

Does pedaling an off the wall older frame and spares build norco aurum, that I pedal 400m to work count as commuting? Well I commute.

I somewhat resemble this...for a long while way back in the glory days of free ride my commuting bikes were modified freeride bikes with maxxis holy rollers and schwalbe crazy bobs. Pretty one of my mates still has his 26 inch spesh status for such riding...though I havent seen him on it in years and it is likely more dust than bike currently.

If I can score some panniers, it would make bringing the laptop home and taking it to work for my WFH day much easier!

That must be some laptop...
I had to carry it on my back today and it's uncomfortable as it makes my back sweaty, and the straps are a chore.

I WFH once a week so I need to get the laptop to and from work if I'm going to ride more often.
