What's the best track you've ever ridden, and why?

As the title may suggest... as far as DH tracks go, what's your favourite one, and why did you like it so much?

<---- taking notes so I can build myself a track at some stage

Thredbo, no questions asked. Fast, flowy, long, and with chairlifts....steve, if you can get some lifts built for your track you will be god.

I'm already god. I'm also hoping to have a track that isn't 99% braking bumps.

My favourite ie Grizzly's at Red Hill in Sydney. Why? Because it has everything, pure DH, Drops, built stunts. You can fly down it, or stop & practise each section. And it is not TOO bad to ride/push back to the top, if shuttles aren't available

Other honourable Mentions:
Lithgow - super fast & flowy
Old Bat - options galore
My friends Freeride track in Helensburgh - super tech
Dargle - short, scary but fun

Delehuntie park bikerX... crikey that track is unreal!! its not really DH, but the airtime is unreal and the speed is even better...
for a pure DH track, the best one i've ridden would be Mt bolton just out of ballarat. club mud held one race there and the track was the gnarliest thing ever.. the rocks were amazing and there was a stutter section down a steep chute, the bumps were so big you could hardly hold on and brakes did nothing... it was a more slow and techy track..

unfortunately the owners dont want people riding there anymore....

Red Hill definately has some good stuff.
The down hill at Mt Majura rules though, and so many different options/tracks to take. I still haven't ridden every one in over a year. Not even close!
Haven't ridden Thredbo yet but I'd love too; Bill from DH Direct and a crew of other hackers are all going tomorrow but I can't go.AHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!

I raced there, that track was THE best use of the landscape I've EVER seen. A bit slow and techy for my liking (I like tracks for going fast on, unfortunately it's never me who's going fast on them :p) but f'n awesome for a hill that only took 5 mins to walk up!

Oi, stop calling us hackers..............fat old slow blokes maybe, but hackers, no! :)

On Topic: My faves, Thredbo, Big Bit (near Batemans Bay), The 2002 Mt Beauty Nats track. (didn't like the 2003 one, too much off-camber, plus it was wet and I sucked on it)

I want to know WHY these are your favourite tracks, more than the actual name...

orright.
Thredbo - Lifted. no brainer. Plus I like the mix of open and tight stuff, plus the little bridges and stuff are cool. Favourite bits are the high speed sweepers near the bottom
Big Bit - Similar mix, tight up top, fast & flowy down the bottom. Lots of cool little jumps that you can blast over.
2002 Nats: STEEP! It took normal obstacles and made 'em scary. It was just plain fun.

Things I don't like: Off camber, too many hairpins that kill all your speed.

I really enjoyed Coffs Harbour. But I believe it may have been cause I was ripping up on my Hols. So I would say it is the best experience at a track I have had ride wise.

My best rack was Nundle in tamworth. It was the track i rode for my first ever DH race and it is still the best ive ever ridden. its got really cool, steeps, rock garden, berms you name it, and "liquid" rock down the bottom launched you soo good. i havent ridden coffs yet but hopefully will get there one day. i like fast tracks, i still like technical stuff just that most of the time i hurt myself on it lol.

I like International at Buller, because it is tight and techy, and it has lost of rocky chutes and it actually challenged, and my arms weren't stuffed by the time i got to the bottom

definitely tamworth, fast corners, berms, crazy g-outs and a shuttle ride to the top thats almost as scary as the track.

kuranda up in cairns. soooooooooo much fun. and who can complain when you can fit in 10 + runs in a day. it just needs some more jumps thats all....... other than that is is probably one of the best tracks that i have riden. im sooooooooooo over walking up tracks. but i'll do it anyway.
