What's my new frame going to be?

Merry fucking Xmas to you assholes
I know this won't be a popular opinion but I think the Pole Evolink 140 would be a good bike. My Pole 150 has been faultless since I've had it. The frame takes 142 or 148mm dropouts, can run 29er or 27.5+, geometry is on point, main pivot bearing is absolutely huge and the hardware is high grade steel, the frame is 7005 alloy made in Taiwan with what appears to be pretty good QC, frame weight is reasonable at 3.6kgs, and you can easily fold the frame in half for travel.

Best of all is that current pricing is about ~$2,800 landed for the frame. This is less than sourcing a Commencal Meta TR locally.

All the rave reviews in the world wouldn't allow me to get over that weird design. i've seen plenty of them, i've heard people talk them up and i dont for a second doubt their sincerity, but i cant look at them. they're like a lefty fork to me, could be the best thing available and half the price of the nearest inferior competitor but i'd never be able to look at it with any kind of respect

Sun here...day off...I'm pretty sure the trails aren't going to be rideable though.

Still waiting to hear from planky about his new frame as well.
Its definitely a consideration... i've never been a huge fan of the horst link style suspension, but then 90% of manufacturers seem to be doing that now so maybe its not as bad as i remember from a decade ago? i dig the red, but i also dig all the blue bits on my spider - red and blue work together right?

I took the spider out today, it was awesome and didn't fall apart while i was riding even once. i dunno, maybe i should keep riding it till it goes all blues brothers mobile on me? or maybe i should hang it up intact in the graveyard (garage) with all the other toasted american built frames i seem to like for no good reason?

A lefty fork?! You wash your filthy mouth out!

How about a Ripley AF?

2 cracks.
One just under the weld below the upper link and another just above the weld above the lower link. Both barely perceptible but after putting paint stripper on them I can confirm that both are definitely cracks.

It's possible I've been riding with them for some time and not known it. I've had this frame since 2017 and it's done probably 5-6000km in that time, possibly more, and I don't look closely for cracks very often. Solid workhorse, great all day bike, any replacement would definitely have big shoes to fill

red and blue work together right?
Yes. I have a nice blue anno 750mm bar as well. And some blue grips and pedals.

Horst is good platform. It's snappy, compliant, and easy to tune. It's not my favourite, no by a long way. Give me a floating virtual pivot of some description any day. I can't bunny hop for shit anyway! I think a lot of the negativity about it comes from association with the cunts at the big s. I'd imagine Merida is pumping out as much horst as they can to whomever is buying.

Ummmmm cus they have welding porn and you know they were made with love by a drunk beardy between bong hits? It's called character.

My Spider was objectively a bit hopeless but I still miss it.

its a shame that the old school Intense frames will never go out of fashion, they just fall apart..I had an early spidey, cracked both the upper and lower linkage and cracked the frame under the HT/DT junction...can confirm that it was a rocketship to ride though

Despite the fact that I've posted you some anthrax for your last comment...

Apparently the new Canyon Strive has similar geo to the Pole Evolink but looks more boring (as opposed to the wonky piece of shit, welded by a stoner that you're replacing).

This could be a good way for you to hate yourself less, while paying more for less capabilities than my other suggestion.
