What does your day look like?

clearing out my mail history since yahoo decided they want to charge for storage now. kind of fun seeing all the places I bought stuff form that are no longer with us or ship here - cell, crc, wiggle, reid, torpedo7, then just how many orders for riding shirts, tools, bikes etc

other bits of nostalgia in there - receipts form the DVD vending machines that were in supermarkets for a while. i guess that alone tells me the cleanout is overdue. and ordering the kids fidget spinners.

Had a view of this from my office window of being loaded up.

Although I lamented the absence of my driving glasses or some binoculars…

Haven't done anything crafty for ages, so ordered some bits online and tried my hand at linocut yesterday. I hadn't done it since school, so wasn't sure how it'd go. Ended up making a few designs, but was most pleased with my interpretation of this little lion statue I own:

I'd left everything setup overnight, so chucked some Tour de France replays on for background noise and had another crack today:

Feel like I need to learn metal casting and make it into a head tube badge now! (Though realistically that's impossible unless the headtube was the size of a 5L paint tin! 😂).

If you didn't stab yourself with the carving tool did you even linocut?

Haha, I was 100% expecting to do this - but the 'lino' I bought is a softer synthetic material so it didn't require the extreme force I remembered from doing it school (although from memory, I think I did it at primary school which seems wild with hindsight. A few kids did skewer themselves though!). I was careful to (mostly) cut away from myself however!

It is a rather large E-Boat. Was good to see this thing take shape. The battery stacks on this thing are huge. Hopefully one of many to come out of Tassie

We saw it from the bridge starting it's sea trials.

It was a brief highlight on an otherwise shitty day of putting Mrs George on a plane home early.

we did it at Primary school too. I guess they figured in the 80s that primary school kids stab themselves, secondary school might stab each other.
