Yeah I already knew that actually! You think this needs an all new hub?

No idea of the history of the bike, but a new axle isn't going to fix the underlying issue that broke the first hub. At some point down the line you will just have another broken axle, probably at the worst moment possible.Yeah I already knew that actually! You think this needs an all new hub?
I've broken a few axles, could feel a little bit of play. But didn't even know until I took the wheel out and the cluster fell on the ground.
What could the underlying issue be? Apart from the potential of being a fuckwit of course...No idea of the history of the bike, but a new axle isn't going to fix the underlying issue that broke the first hub. I’ve managed to do the same with a hub when the freehub bearings crapped out without my knowledge and I kept riding it. That hub had freeplay adjustment because it was a semi sealed set up and I had no idea, just ran it into the ground. What could the underlying issue be? Apart from the potential of being a fuckwit of course...
Could be design, poor heat treat in a production batch, could be bearings shat themselves, could be that you're a mountain goat trapped in a man's body. What could the underlying issue be? Apart from the potential of being a fuckwit of course...
Yes. Yes they are and yes they can.Hope OEM bearings are rubbish and sometimes the pawls or pawl springs fail

I still wish I'd kept my Nukeproof Horizon V2 wheels - they were excellent. My son has a Horizon V2 rear wheel he bought locally - it has a lovely freehub buzz too!Could be design, poor heat treat in a production batch, could be bearings shat themselves, could be that you're a mountain goat trapped in a man's body.
I've had a really good run with Hope, I9, and Funn Fantom hubs. The I9 pawls and driverings can be broken with abuse; Hope OEM bearings are rubbish and sometimes the pawls or pawl springs fail; no complaints whatsoever with the Funns, which are also the cheapest to buy and get freehubs for.
PSA: Funn Fantoms and Spank Hex use the same freehubs.

Means danger.Hiking in Spain and saw this. My Spanish is a bit shit but I'm pretty sure it says no gravel bikes. Ahead of their time the Spanish.

As well as the picture that looks suspiciously like a drop bar road or gravel bike.Means danger.
Finished my latest "keeps me busy to avoid thinking about other shit" build this morning.
Scott Scale 930 frame, from the ground up.
BRAND NEW everything..(except the bars, which I don't like, so might swap them out).
Just got to give it a run up the road to ensure all is well and then it's going to the 'FOR SALE' page....but its raining here, so that will have to wait.
