It's Not Easy Being Green
I hope you told her it's a safety issue and if she actually loved you she wouldn't let you ride around on that death trap!...and yet I'm struggling to get M'lady to believe it's broken enough to warrant a new bike!!!

Not quite, they just won't make you slow (down).old school rim caliper brakes make you faaaaast !
Only when you try braking on wet grass........I feel you @bigdamo !
I'm the same - except I have a fatbike - once my brain ( which is fucked ) and my legs are recalibrated its fine - the first bit is like ' whhoooo wuts up ' ?
my 'shopping bike tho - its a rocket . old school rim caliper brakes make you faaaaast !
I can lend you a broken frame if you want to present physical evidence. It seems that I have to actually break something first. Though she has just pointed out that I have other bikes I could ride if this one is broken... seems churlish!
Those Chinese aliexpress carbon rims have held up. I got the light weight rims and the zitto hubs although I think the Zitto rear hub is the reason I'm going so slow. Well that is my excuse.I took the trail bike out today seeing as the trails have pretty much dried rock hard. I been riding the ebike for the last few months. It's always a shock to the system getting back on and I'm the engine. The whole ride I kept thinking how slow I am going. All in all good to be back pedaling my guts out and getting nowhere.View attachment 421283
More impressive is that I was still able to ride it, albeit gingerly, 10km back to the car.Thats some impressive spoke action @cokeonspecialtwodollars
I saw the tied spokes and wondered about that. That is genuinely impressive. Carbon rim I'm guessing?More impressive is that I was still able to ride it, albeit gingerly, 10km back to the car.
A big stick I presume? That's a hell of a lot of broken spokes!More impressive is that I was still able to ride it, albeit gingerly, 10km back to the car.

Putting the disintegrating spokes to one side for a moment, how do you find the VHS chainstay? worth the 65$?
