triple clamps + Kona Stinky???

hey guys and girls
Im looking to upgrade the forks on my 2008 kona stinky and if posible I would like to trade my 4month old 66's for some triples as I am doing all downhill.
I you are reading this thread and are looking for some quality single crowns pm me. if not give you opinion on this idea and which forks.

A guy whos selling his stinky 08 stinky now has 888's on his. Maybe your best bet would be to ask him. His username is Will something. I think some boxxers races would be better then 888's or any other forks on that bike.
 
I know a couple of guys who run 888s on their stinkys, they seem fine.

Just out of interest, why are you changing to triples?

I am doing no freeride whatsoever only DH.
I tried my a couple of my friends bikes and i really liked the feel of the 888's and boxxers.
 
I would get 888's because boxxers cannot take freeride if you end up doing a tiny bit. 888's can go DH'n and freerideing. My friend learnt the hard way about using boxxers for freeride. mmmmmm snapage!!
 
I ran Boxxer Teams on my stinky and had no problem at all. Felt really good and the freeride stuff was fine. It won't upset the geometry hardly at all as the axle to crown height on 66's are fairly similar to Boxxers.

O yer and for all those people sayingBoxxers can't do freeride. Brandon Seminuk just won the biggest freeride and huckfest event on the planet with Boxxers.

I'd recommend Boxxers highly.
 
Im that 'will' guy mentioned in the first post. I have 888's on my 08 stinky. They run fine, have not ruined anything, made the geometry better if anything. Kona gave me the all clear on them, specifically told me they would not crack the frame or damage it beyond warranty.
 
ok cool. Im going to go with either 888's 2006+ or some 2007 boxxer races or teams. how do I get trading access???

I've had friends tell me that the boxxers require constant rebuilding under harsh conditions...which is fine when your sponsors are doing it all for you I guess. I've been running 888's for ages & they've worked a dream

Im going with the 888's as I really like the feel of them.

Tom, read the Rules and maybe you will discover how to gain trading access. Or maybe look near the trading section...
 
yeh you have to send a email to the admins with a legit reason. the way not to get trading access is to be yeh i want to but some sick 888s. make sure when u apply that you tell them why and EXPLAIN.

You also need to show you have a decent grasp of the english language. I don't think you're supposed to email the admins.
