Toe Overlap with Front Tyre

There's a dirty secret in the gravel world they don't want you to know about. I remember as a kid experiencing this on some bikes but never had it since then. Because of the bigger tyre at 3 o'clock on my pedal stroke I'm hitting my front tyre. with my size EU46/UK11.5/US12.5 fat foot. Not a problem generally until I'm in tight single track (usually by mistake, as it's not really my intention to ride this terrain on the gravel bike, I'll ride my MTB for that) and then I have to be a bit careful.

That's a roadie and cyclocross problem as well. Soon, gravel bikes will get longer and slacker...and we'll be back where we started.

Yeah it is a bit of an issue when climbing tighter switchbacks but if I turn tight enough the pedal stroke underlaps the front wheels.

The Couch Pelotons reckon the shorted wheel base / toe overlap is the cause of many of the Grand Tour bunch crash's.
I'm planning on a gravel build(if knee surgery goes well next week) & have settled on a Carbonda 707.
It has a rather long wheel base = no over lap.

I have just mounted Tufo Speedero 700c x 40 tyres, down from the Kenda Alluvium Pros 45s, and moved my cleats forward (My NW shoes seem to have the mounting points further back than my other shoes anyway) and I think I have eliminated it completely.

With just cleats moved forward it improved with the Alluvium Pro 45s, it was almost nothing, and I could drop my heel and stop it completely so I think it will be gone, now with the Speederos, I couldn't get any overlap riding around in thongs!
