Hi all, any interest in this 2001 Giant XTC NRS 1? Sh!t hot XC bike for its time! Mavic UST tubeless, SID fork and shock, and a frame apparently designed by Renault F1 engineers...
This was my uncle's bike but it hasn't been ridden in years. The paintwork is in great shape but fork and shock will surely need a service. I know it's not really worth anything - just trying to find someone who will get joy out of restoring it to glory. Because if I am honest with myself, I am never going to get around to it.
I am in Brisbane. Would consider shipping it, but would prefer not to. If you are interested PM me. Happy to get more piccies etc. And if anyone has suggestions for Facebook groups etc that might find it a home, I am all ears...

This is a highly desirable collector's item! If you are happy to accept $10,000 ill fly to brisvegas and collect for transport myself. I couldn't risk transit damage to such great item.

I don't really want money for it, just to find someone who is into these bikes and will get some joy out of it. Is there really so little interest in old xc stuff though?
 
Not much been happening with the bike apart from trying to find a seat, I did see a blue and black SDG Bel Air but it arrived and it was the wrong blue a little to dark, they I went down the route of maybe looking for the small version of the black and white Tioga seat but they kinda sit a bit to high.
So after the blue black failed attempt I was trawling the internet and saw a white and black SDG Bel Air a colour I have never seen before so took a punt and bought it, I mean its not perfect I like it I think I just need to get rid of a few more wrong colour on the bike like the red grips, the IRC Kujo tyres and red spring and it will settle the bike down a bike

Every god-damn time I'm like "I can't believe he has two of them...". Damn tricky paint job!
 
More upgrades this weekend as I had some spare time to go to the storage unit and grab a set of Michelin Comp 24's, I opted for a 2.5 front and a 2.2 rear.

It took me maybe 1.5h to get these tires on I forgot how hard it was back in the day and I don't have the thumbs I used to and I had a set of crappy plastic tire levers which are now in the bin as fitting took its toll haha

Super happy with how the bikes now looking a few more parts to sort out to settle the overall look of the bike down and build it how I would of if I had the money in 1998 at the ripe of age of 15
