The QUICK question thread.....

"10-sp." LG is basically 11-sp. with a sprocket deleted so it's a narrower cassette, therefore shorter shift stroke than "proper" 10-sp.
It's a strange group, dropped for ebikes in 2022, why could they not have made it microspline knowing it was replacing 12spd groups. They stuck to their guns with 11spd being HG.
Every chunt with a 12spd ebike scrambling for HG drivers.

Nah, XT. Had no idea they’d changed.
+1 on finding the XT is the new shitty smaller design. I had an inkling it might be after @Tubbsy's XTR woes, but it still caught me out. I threw an old MT800 in the current build as it should outlast the cockroaches anyway... :p

Quick Q... would I regret getting a Trek? what's bad about them?
(unlike other ones have been lookin at, at least these exist and can be purchased :p )

I'm biased. Life long MTB Trek Tragic. But it's hard to go past the life time frame warranty.

Nothing. People will give you shit for buying one. Ignore them, they're underrated bikes. Remedy I had was one of the most fun and forgiving bikes I've ever owned, would still have it except I finally had to accept it was too small for me. Several mates have or had Slashes and loved them too.

Thank you both :)
i'm OK with social stigma.. there are local kids occasionally giving me shit about current squish bike that weren't even born when it was made :D

Things that give me pause.. Rythym fork (can add internals), Trunnion shock .. meh wheels... and looks kinda funny :p

but $4.5 is not bad ($2K off), same as the "imaginary" Norco Fluid A1 :)
Ed: plus is relatively cheap intro to "modern" geo.. from which to find better N+1 bike :)

I think that's a pretty excellent spec for the (Trek) money. The tyres are the weak link though, I'd be getting some Exo+ level tyres for a bike like that.

If you were interested in a non-store bike then I've been really happy with mine, this one is better specced in the suspension department (perhaps not in the drivetrain unless you like SRAM) -

Like Lietch I had an older Fuel. 2016. First of the 29ers so geo was super outdated by todays standards of 29’rs but was still an excellent and fun bike.
I’ve since ridden a remedy and rented a Fuel a few years ago I’m Tassie which proved to be an almost perfect bike for Derby.
Trek make really good bikes. Moorey hates them with a passion and I giggled like a kid with a bad case of shadenfreude when his kid got onto a Trek racing team but you can’t go wrong.
Unless you’re sponsored by Only Fans that is. Then it will suck and you’ll have to bin it.
If I wasn’t such a card carrying boutique wanker I’d definitely have a Trek on my bike shortlist

Oh Bubu, you just can't help yourself, can you? Have you ridden those tyres? On the same trails Corollas is riding?
I rode XR4s on my Spectral and they were shite in Smithfield and Atherton, not the XR5 admittedly so some extrapolation given the Fuel EX is in a similar category to my bike. Also notwithstanding that I'm 100kg+...

Does anyone on here use current model Shimano hubs? I've always steered away from them because I don't like cup and cons hubs but the fuckers are everywhere! And so they hold any form of onsell value if I had a new set off a bike?
