spiderman is great, miles morales was good too if not a bit short.

I still regularly use my Vita and laptop is on its last legs, so keeping an eye on the Asus ROG Ally reviews
anyone else still using handhelds?
Still using an Original PSP here, only replaced the battery twice and thats it.

Also Sony just announced this, not sure how it will work with the disc games, as thats all I try to buy.
Sony’s new Q handheld is official: 8-inch screen, streams PS5 games - The Verge

Yes, but it's the digital version.
I don't buy the disc's anymore.
I try to get the discs sometimes the prices are a bit cheaper, but the subscription service looks good. We just lost a whole heap of saves as got the first edition of the PS5 disc version (and you need to pay the subscription to restore your saves from the old console) that had the overheating issue (was a gift so tried to play through, EB knew the issues so the swap was straight forward after that)

finished reading one of the Witcher books, got inspired to fire up the game and go looking for some interesting side quests I hadn't done

The two DLCs are down to $35 for the both of them, I heard good things about them, another 30 hours of game play so for the next month or so I am Geralt of Rivia.

My wife will not enjoy this next month with my witcher commentary "hmm the toaster , warm, must be toast somewhere' or "hmm, dog turds in the yard, mmm, yep dog turds, lucky I didn't step in them" etc etc etc etc etc

My son even less so when I start to refer to him as Dandelion
Don't forget the classic "hmmm cold, wind's howling" :D as well as occasional difficulty trying to jump a low fence or do the 'running man' dance move in front of a wall or tree when you didn't change direction.

Harry Potter was basically this, release it on PS5, game just crashes before it was able to be saved. The worst present I have ever bought someone, iterative development means you should have a product to begin with and deliver and it does okay, not just crashes and then you release a patch after the game launch.
This seems to be the current way of things. AAA Games released that are barely playable and/or glitchy AF. Cyberpunk 2077 was another prime example. The release dates appear to be the primary consideration these days (and even they get blown out a lot of the time) , not the quality and functionality of a given game.

The whole just get it out the door and we will patch and fix it later mentality just opens the door wide for crap products. Once the money has been collected then it is easy to move on the next big thing instead of plonking more dollars to go back and fix something that you have sold earlier.

For newer PC games, it never seems like there is the 'right' amount of hardware. Even if you have the hardware specs for what should be a great experience then buggy code can make the lot useless.

Dead Island 2 - looks great, gameplay is fun
Atari 50th Anniversary - bought that as well for a laugh. Have not played it yet
Might have a look at the Atari 50th. I spent way too much misspent youth time on a 2600.

I have a Super Console X though which covers the retro world really well.

I was interested to see what games they had in the Atari Jaguar pack but some of the “classics” must be third party titles and not available. Tempest 2000 is there though, and worth a play!

WTF!

Now I know I'm an out of touch middle aged man, but I'm struggling to get my head around watching someone else play games, let alone being worth $100m.

there's a couple of channels on Youtube where the dudes do walkthroughs with commentary which are super useful if/when I get stuck on a section, puzzle or boss fight.

Just finished Rime which is a pretty unique game. Not a shot is fired, mostly puzzles of some sort, beautiful scenery but a sad storyline.

Really worth it.

Currently playing through Diablo 4 with the wife.
Up to Lv 35 and have done about 20% of the main story due to major side quests/distractions.
Enjoying so far.
Highly recommend going through the campaign fully before wandering about too much as you get a horse to ride around Act 4 of the campaign which makes traversing the map sooooooo much better.
