The gaming thread

PC rigs are Farken superior for some games, especially FPS. Aiming is almost intuitive with a mouse, compared to thumbsticks.
Yeah I tend to lean towards fps so mouse is preferred. Was on the PS train for a bit and had a full racing sim setup (non VR) but to be honest I don't have enough time ffor gaming these days so hard to justify.

GMDX done... enjoyable.
enemy AI was better, some of the skills/perks were all right...
sort of just made DX1 more like DX3, which was not a bad thing.
Deus Ex remaster announced for Feb

Decided this piece of gaming history was better put on display than stored away. Reminder of the good old days.

Oh, I might have one of these stashed away somewhere,. You can rack the glass with the BFO hammer and get into a bit of SLI mode FTW!

Paired well with the Tseng Labs ET4000 to cover both 2D and 3D modes.

@Mr Crudley @Oddjob I dunno if you could SLI these ones, this is the original Diamond Monster - so voodoo 1 with 4mb ram (edit: having a bit of a search and maybe there were some voodoo 1 cards that could run SLI actually...) . Had it on my Pentium 233 and it served me well for the Quake 1, Quake 2 and CS beta 4 to version 1 days. Pretty sure I also got Quake 3 running on it with some config files that made every texture basically a solid colour and forced the same basic blue player model for everyone else!

Was very jealous of the SLI Voodoo 2 card setups, pretty insane for the time!

I think you are right. These are pre SLI era if I remember correctly.

Still two have to be better than one, right. ? :)

I only have Human Revolution and Mankind Divided - played the latter but by all accounts HR is meant to be better. Might get back to it one day.
Picked up Deus Ex mankind divided for Xbox one, its some of the best money ive spent on a game in years, very unique first person shooter, played the previous titles as well, they really do a great job of building a rich world to play in.

Mankind Divided... so so good!

The "Criminal past" DLC is maybe one of the best single missions in the series?

Wondering if anyone knows if there's a way to play old school 80's arcade games (Mame, Capcom, Namco etc.) on the soon to be released Steam Gaming/PC cube? Would also be preferable to be able to use an old school joystick & button controller(s)!?!?

Was looking into the Pandora Box Platinum Pro for the old school gaming experience, but for what will be a similar price, the Steam unit would be more versatile & not just a 1 trick pony.

@\m/ Moshboy \m/ Check out the RetroArch project https://www.retroarch.com/ You can run it on quite a lot of systems - I've got it running fine through Steam and just through the PC on linux, and there also ways to to get it running on Xbox too.

Imagine it would run fine on the Steam Machine, but you'd probably be able to get away with a cheap mini PC for the kinda games you're after.

https://www.8bitdo.com/#Products has a range of cool controllers as well

Thanks droenn, very helpful.

If I can get it set-up on my One S, that would be ideal & there looks like there's a joystick style controller to suit too.

AC might be almost 10 years old but there's a big world of free and paid mods for it. SRP if you like to pretend you're in wangan midnight racing the tokyo motorways

Stopped playing my go to game as it was just a time sink and needed other people to interact with so annoyed me eventually as I gave more help than I ever received - but now I am stuck trying to find something to hold my interest.
Loaded God of War back up but a few minutes in realised that wasnt "It " - Loaded up Where Winds Meet - Way to in depth for me didnt want to learn - Tired Peak a mind numbing climbing game that was stupid - Like the idea of a shooter again but dont want to do the Call of Duty thing again Not interested in Battle field or Arc Raiders - Tried Delta Force but too sweaty - Thinking I might gIve Diablo another go - Diablo 4 is on special but not sure if I should just load up 3 and play that - Kinda figure if I was going to start again start on latest
