The gaming thread

i know a bunch of bikers cannot relate, but i seem to be accumulating some stuff i don't really use anymore. So anyone in sydney want to grab an old logitech G27 and have a go at sim racing, free to good home. grab a pc and some recent titles for not much on steam . wheel, 3 pedals, 6 speed shifter and paddles. old but works ok.
Giveaway of the month IMO. Kudos to you @tubby74. Would be all over that if I was in the area.

G27 is a couple of generations old so wouldnt go for a lot. id rather someone have a go before committing decent money than deal with flippers off marketplace

what's the lowest you can go ?

can you throw in a pc and deliver ?

mildly interesting - through a complete miskey I landed on an ETF for video games and esports (VSPO), up over 50% for the year. there's money in them there games, but whats changed in a year to make a tracker fund run so hot?

ESPO? Looking across its holdings it has big gainers in Roblox, Nintendo, Tencent, Unity etc

I thought they might been riding the nVidia wave but apparently not.

Still mowing through Serious Sam 4. I'm not consistent playing these things, but y'know............ but it can be fun.

A faithiful reproduction of a nonna in Rome that also happens to be good with a minigun.

I think @Ultra Lord was going on about Hollow Knight - but its only $9 at the moment on Steam. Its some kinda of side-scrolly adventure beat-em-up thing?
5 years later, I still haven't played it and now Silksong is out. Had no idea it was from a small team in Adelaide. Over 560,000 concurrent players on Steam for an indie title is crazy.

Another injury, means more game time for at least a few weeks. Hit me up on good stuff.

Love a good fps shooter in story mode (rare these days, I know). Thoroughly enjoyed titanfall 2, farcry series etc. Looking for suggestions, some thoughts on my end:

- God of war - is it too late to enter the franchise? If so which one to start on?
- Wukong - been waiting for this to go on sale but might just go for it because I have time to play.
- Flight sim of some sort - don't want to just fly like microsoft flight sim, but maybe dogfight - sort of tempted to lay some cash and join the vr revolution.
- Buy back into the sim racing saga and take up what little space is left in my study room filled with kids junk.
- Elden ring/silent hill? No idea but folks rekons these are ok
- CIV 7? Played 6 and it was a downgrade from 5 imo. Not sure this has changed enough for me to pay full price

Alternative is spam csgo and try to escape silver (again for the millionth time) or binge netflix.

I've been enjoying Ready or Not. It's not getting much advertising anywhere but is a good rendition of SWAT missions without the perks you're used to on most shooters. The missions are short but it's pretty tense and requires you to be very strategic with whatever gang of thugs you're taking down.
@Calvin27 you mentioned you liked Titanfall; maybe grab Armored Core 6 while it's on sale? It's pretty fun too.
I've fallen in love with fallout 4 for the seventh time and playing through that again. I love fallout.

I've nearly finished the storyline of Cyberpunk 2077. Great game now it's been patched and fixed. I'm glad I waited.

God of War is good. the Gameplay gets a bit same-y for me. didn't finish it. can't remember which one. one of the later ones, I think.

Elden Ring is great if you love Dark Souls style games. If you don't like Souls-like games, you would have more fun by getting monitor lizards to repeatedly bite you on the balls.

The Division 2 was great fun IMO. tactical shooting. Doesn't rely on multi-player to work properly.

+1 on Fallout 4. An absolute Classic. You can work the storylines and missions, and you can just explore the sometimes highly radioactive post apoc scorched earth landscape. sometimes there are a few plants.

If you want something a bit silly, Robocop Rogue City is pretty cheap at the moment.

Cyberpunk is always the answer if you havent played it.

I thoroughly enjoyed Stalker 2 but its still a bit jank (but really immersive despite that)

Sorry to hear about the injury. Heal up and spend the time well.

It would be a pile o' shame entry but I thought CoD WW2 was entertaining with a decent but predictable storyline. Reminded a bit of the old Medal of Honor series even down to the ping of an empty clip on a M1 Garand. I'm a partial to WW1 or WW2 shooter.

I'm super keen for cyberpunk but I think I need a PS5 to play it ?

I'm still playing Dark Souls 3, I'm really enjoying it. IRL I have a few monitor lizards biting my balls, DS3 is welcome relief.

Nope. I'm playing it on.... PS4...  I avoided the game for several years, but, praise The Flying Spaghetti Monster, it works.
I will say this though. It's far more fun to ride the motorbikes than drive the cars. The car driving physics are shite. Also, with the cars, it's like you are constantly trying to peer over the dashboard to see the frikken road better, whereas the POV on the bikes is great. (pro tip: if you stand near the back of the bike, you can access your stash/inventory).

Those Monitor Lizards can be sneaky and relentless, at times. All the best for getting some Honey Badgers to deal with them. 🤜🤛
