That is the government's job, not the campaigners. The leaders of the yes campaign may have been asked to assist in designing or implementing, but it is still the government's job to do it.

Comments like this are reflective of outdated racist tropes and cliches about indigenous people not being able to govern/organise/lead/sustain/etc that have evolved over 235 years of purposeful exclusion of indigenous people in shaping Australia. They feed right into the falsehoods purporting the terra nullius myth still touted by those who wish to justify British colonialism.
The whole point of the voice advisory was that it was an independent body from the Australian government, indiginous formulated how it would work. The problem I see is that they had 22 representatives for over 400 clans across Australia, the reps could be advising with a self-interest against other clans.

Fair call, kind of but it is based on an observation of a lot of double standards that leads to poor accountability.

There is no way the voice would have been established with out controversy given the history and history often repeats its self.

So it’s bad to call out prior if you can see it coming and also bad to call out when it comes a reality.

It seems perfectly ok to call the result out as racist so racist racist everywhere.

The challenge now, as I see it is to form this voice and prove the 61% wrong that it could add value.

What is stopping a voice now given the huge corporate support it had. Let’s just keep those donations pumping and keep this thing independent of the gov. Where is Qantas now and those banks.

let you google that for me

The Voice advisory can't pass legislation so does in fact rely on Government to make the details official.

The problem I see is that they had 22 representatives for over 400 clans across Australia, the reps could be advising with a self-interest against other clans.
That's nothing to do with the constitution though - to get to that point it would needed to have passed in the referendum.

Yeah they could but a different Government could tear it all down which would be a huge waste. It's not like The Opposition doesn't have a history themselves of wrecking things that were on track to improve the country..

I was thinking next best option now that we know the outcome.

That is not a bad thing IMO as there was no guarantee the voice would not be stacked in future with hard right representatives drinking the conservative juice.

Can someone hack Bidens twitter and order Israel and Hamas to play nice otherwise they get spanked with nukes leaving their holy lands radiated for 50 years. Probably would have been easy to hack and been believable if trump was in power.... Guess there are downsides to him being out.

I'm sure Hamas would play nice if the Israelis hadn't been slaughtering Palestinians every time a Palestinian farts without permission, for the past fuck knows how long.

The thing about Biden is that he was elected with Pro-Israeli donor money. Do you think he gives a flying fuck about the Palestinians?
He even proudly proclaims that he is a "Zionist". That, IMO, is severely fucked up .
With the Muricans backing Israel (and the brits, and probably Oz as well), it is going to take the rest of the world to stop this evil bullshit genocide on the Palestinians.

Agreed, in terms of Government policies, America and its allies (including us) are 98% concerned about keeping Israel protected as it is a "western" outpost in the Middle East and 2% concerned about the humanitarian situation, and only because of how it appears. It's a shit situation and Israel shouldn't get the unconditional support they have at the moment.

In a remarkable speech last week in Houston, Saudi Prince Turki bin Faisal unleashed on Hamas for its atrocities and obstructionism. But he also had words for Israel.

"I condemn Hamas for further undermining the Palestinian Authority, as Israel has been doing," said the former Saudi intelligence chief and ambassador to the U.S. "I condemn Hamas for sabotaging the attempt of Saudi Arabia to reach a peaceful resolution to the plight of the Palestinian people.

"I condemn Israel for funnelling Qatari money to Hamas."

Prince Turki was referring to money that the Qatar royal family has been sending to Gaza for years, to the tune of about a billion U.S. dollars.

'Hamas is an asset'
Netanyahu's hawkish defence minister Avigdor Liberman was the first to report in 2020 that Bibi had dispatched Mossad chief Yossi Cohen and the IDF's officer in charge of Gaza, Herzi Halevi, to Doha to "beg" the Qataris to continue to send money to Hamas.

"Both Egypt and Qatar are angry with Hamas and planned to cut ties with them. Suddenly Netanyahu appears as the defender of Hamas," the right-wing leader complained.

A year later, Netanyahu was further embarrassed when photos of suitcases full of cash going to Hamas became public. Liberman finally resigned in protest over Netanyahu's Hamas policy which, he said, marked "the first time Israel is funding terrorism against itself."

Netanyahu's education minister Naftali Bennett also denounced the payments, and also quit.
