There is historical issues with this coalition gov and the Pacific. Scomo took his senior advisor to Tonga for the climate change talks and let him run the Australian delegation. Scomos senior advisor is the former CEO of the Minerals Council of Australia and was kicked out because of he was too anti climate change for the resource companies.

I was introduced to populism in the context of Wright Patman (of the Robinson-Patman Act), defender of the plain people. So it's anti-business predation, anti-financial deregulation and manipulation, and freedom of individual enterprise.
It didn't name him in the Guardian article as they never name advisors but I figured it was him since we know he is now a senior advisor for Scomo.
He is a particularly odious character…
So he has found his perfect boss.
Also a 63% turnout rate so pretty hard to jump to conclusions beyond the dangers of apathy.
