I could imagine that combo working, but yeah getting the balance right would be key!Ok this one’s left of centre. I work in a youth justice facility. Juvie.
And I didn’t cook it but it’s worth a mention.
Anyway the boys in my unit get vanilla ice cream. I notice that one of the lads ) a Thai/Karen) lad is eating light brown ice cream.
‘What the fuck is that’ I ask.
‘Taste it’ is the response. Nope. Fuck that.
He says its ice cream mixed with Soy sauce. I say that sounds fucking disgusting. Noooo. He says. Try it. So it tried it. And fuck me. It was amazing. That was some gourmet shiiiit! If I walked into a swanky ice cream shop on Brunswick st and got this I’d be pretty happy.
The trick is a very very minimal amount of soy sauce. It tastes like salted caramel.
Go on. Give it a go.
Reminds me of an ice cream shop in the middle of Adelaide where my HPV teamies would go after the main post-race pub dinner. They'd have a lot of the usual and not too unusual stuff, but occasionally produce some real "WTF?" stuff. Their blue cheese & fig ice cream was one of those "da phuq?" concoctions, but unexpectedly delicious.Ok this one’s left of centre. I work in a youth justice facility. Juvie.

steak and chilis for breakfast is quite the way to start the day
Sounds a little like the strawberries and balsamic combo.
Yeah that could be where I had it; went there back when it was in Rozelle. Damn that was a fine meal.I was just thinking of this. Pretty sure that was a tetsuya signature back in the day.
