The bike industry crisis

Whoever wins Lot 36 (the misc stock) is going to spend the rest of the year just sorting out parts (once they find somewhere to store it all!)

Surely not hard to make things good and offer those 30 people a frame or advise a refund coming - firmly on my not to buy list.

Forge and Bond carbon wheels has gone so owners no longer have a warranty but Revel who are now back partnered with I9 to offer a back up for the wheels they sold at least offering riders some comfort if they bust a rim for a small fee.

A mate and I were both vying for all leftover stock when Southcott stopped being into bikes. They used to build/ supply all the postie bikes as well as import GT, Electra and others. He won out.
Absolute truck loads of parts which he still has in storage…would take a year to go through it. Reckon I dodged a bullet there.

I have been buying coats made with Goretex material since 1976. Coats last an average of 18 years. Best garments are not made by the Gore company. Mountain Designs make some great ones.
I've got a MD rain jacket that's over 20 years old. It looks worn, it's stained but it's just as functional as the day it was bought. Over the years it's been through hell and back.

Not great news if true. Whilst expensive, my Gore rain jacket is quality and has lasted for years

best comment (IMO) so far on Pinkbike:

"That's odd. Company that pollutes the earth for decades with forever chemicals now can't find a way to sustainable profitability. They lack vision!"

A good time to search out Non-PFAS Non-teflon 3L membrane jackets.

I have an eVent 3L rain shell jacket for hiking and general travel. light and breathes well with no pit zips or the like.

Still got a goretex infinium (now windstopper) windproof cycling jersey. apparently it's still expanded PTFE :(, but stretched thinner so the holes are bigger.
