The 32"/32er Discussion Thread

Either way modern 29 er geometry is designed more for going fast on machine built tracks although the sheep are using them everywhere.
The happy medium for me is 27.5 .

Wait for the shit shower

27.5" for me too, but I'd say we're in a minority here.

Funny how one of the guests on the podcasts predicts that in the future we will go back to 26", as there's no way we can go any bigger than 32" lol.

There goes the self described “iconoclast” calling people sheep again. Maybe the ‘sheep’ use 29ers everywhere because they work. But so do 27.5ers. And 26ers.
So enjoy what you ride, who cares, but you constantly calling people sheep that prefer things that are different to your narrow view gets tiresome.

at least it's not thru-headset...

similar turning ability? then again, road race motos have crap turning circles too...

No need to be upset or take it personally unless you are actually an Ovis Aries who has managed to use AI to communicate with humans in which case I apologise.
You can stop reading now .
I regard 90% of the population as sheep because they do as they as told or mimic one another or dont observe what is going on.
In the case of mountain biking they dont question changes which are the work of marketers.
I would have to include 12 speed , pointless standards like boost and super boost, proprietary standards such as microspline which only fit 12 speed Shimano .
E bikes why is everything different from one bike to the next ,nothing is cross compatible . They are reinventing the wheel ,sheep behaviour.
Why cant they have industry standards its pathetic.? Bafang has managed to make stuff that is generic.
Sheep behaviour all the brands are doing the same , having to create different electronics no wonder so many brands are failing.
Unfortunately not enough bike shops have people training to diagnose ebike faults so cant really be trusted.*
One friend recently went to the shop, first it was the motor but they cant get one so he bought one on ebay, they fitted the motor that didnt fix it ,then it was the battery they changed that but that didnt help.
Eventually as they were removing the battery they found a wire with the insulation worn off it.
why cant they just use a farkin multimeter or get trained.
Generally they race out and buy caravans and dumb American style utes like a Chevy Silverado and build the biggest ugliest house they can barely afford.
Climate change is just a bother for them.

I went from 26 straight to 29, didn’t follow the sheep to 27.5. Not going to base my wheel choice around a handful of uphill switchbacks either.

My ride is a 559 (keep the measurements real please!), tried a few 622s but only found one or two that felt OK, keep that size for road. Rode a few 584s & I could get along alright with them; would be my go-to if 559 completely fell off the planet. Dunno what the ISO is for so-called 32", but the geo compromises just look completely fucked.

But you are 2.9m tall.

I am only 1,820,000 microns tall and 107 years old. I started on 27", went to 26" for a century, moved to 27.5" while still owning 26" and thence to 29". I found the 27.5" a great size for my height. Didn't stop people telling me 27.5" was a shit size, not as playful as 26" and not as fast as 29". I was deeply concerned that I had an insufficiency of fucks. #2 has the Bronson now and I only have the fat and the 29" lefty trail ride. Still have no fucks. I would grab a 5010 in 27.5" if I ever rode anything that justified front and rear springs.

In my years I have never seen a sheep riding a bike. Goats maybe, sheep no.

It's funny how the ones the don't look like shit are all basically XXL frames (ie: they actually look proportional compared to a Large 29er). It'll be interesting to see if anyone can make a decent looking Medium 32er. I don't hold out a lot of hope. 😂
Yep. There will be some good looking 32" bikes. There will be some great looking 32" bikes. You will need to be at least 6'6" to apply 🤣

Having said, Curve just threw out a medium 32" gravel bike that looks ok.
