I can't cope with the upside down stems and super low bars. My old man brain just doesn't compute this new fangled wizardry, handle bars must be higher than the top tube. Maybe I should just look at the vintage thread so my 90's world view isn't rocked too badly.
The Salsa looks ok for a gravel bike, by which I mean I only threw up in my mouth and not on my keyboard.
 
I remember people saying the same thing when 29ers came out, flipped stems, no spacers underneath and low profile headsets plus everyone saying you couldn’t do a long travel 29er, no doubt all those fuckers are probably riding a long travel 29er with 40mm riser bars.

As a XC nut I like my stems somewhere close to flat; small-angle upside down works well. Although I do like a decent bit of drop from saddle height, placing the bar below the top tube is just fucking wrong. My older man body is trying to tell me to be a little bit sensible with setup, but my brain is in denial that I'm not 25 anymore.

Going back a fair few years, I had a customer who rolled his handlebar forward 180 deg. so he had a front sweep rather than back sweep, and I asked him "how the snot can you find that comfortable?"

I used to like the bars low, but not so flexible now. I have also wrecked one frame, creased the top tube where the bar hit it in a fall. My bars are now high enough that they clear the top tube if they swing around. The top tube is so steep on some of these 32" bikes, that a lowered bar may clear it anyway.
