@FigBo0T going down the ditch fast is scary. Going down the slalom fast requires skill. Yawn all you like, we all had a blast. I managed two laps of the bike pump track at Stromlo on my skateboard encouraged by some of the better dudes doing it, didn't think it was possible but there ya go.
I haven't ridden a skateboard since I was 16 or 17. Did all that stuff. I was speaking from a spectator's perspective.
It's a bit like baseball and cricket I guess. Fun to play, sucks to watch.

Interesting sound track...and I didn't see any kick flips!

Looks you could also run something similar for bmx or small MTB, chainless of course so it's pure pump.

Was there a drop mid course? Or just the way the seems look from air?

Small drops all the way along the course. Watching the really fast guys is pretty good spectator sport. We had a young (24) street skater come along and he had a lot of style on the courses, and did pretty well. He did a couple of kickflip fakies in the ditch, hard wheels are hard work in there. He did an acid drop off the handrail into the pump track at Stromlo too, was pretty rad. He was so stoked on the event and will be back next year.

Yeah short board and hard wheels dont handle steep and fast so well. Or small rocks!

Hard surface pump tracks should be more common and accessible.

This stuff is always alot harder than it looks in photos and videos.

Did the famous Albany Snake Run (one of the oldest surviving skate parks in the world) around New Year's and scared myself good and proper. Blew up a bearing in one wheel too.

Yeah Stromlo is pretty damn good considering it's decomposed granite. Apparently it was many times more $$ to make it bitumen and they didn't have the budget. Parts of it have worn in well and become pretty much as smooth as bitumen though. It's also repairable and where repairs are needed extra resin can be used to create a smooth longer wearing surface.

I've only been to Stromlo once. It was a lot of fun but the whole place seemed a bit run down and not as well maintained as it should be. I enjoyed what was left of the xxxx track, another play thing that the world would do well with more of.
