As a former GU team member (in the "geez you've got to be joking" class) the top team were on sponsored Yetis and even us joking class riders could get one at some discounted price I believe. The top guys made them go very fast so people who fancied themselves as a bit serious were attracted to them for sure. In my case I was happy with my mediocrity on a Specialized.

I liked my 575. It replaced the Rize and was genuinely easier and better to ride on climbs. Same drive train and tyres and it got traction where the Rize would just spin or wheelie. Could be, probably, rider incompetence but it gave me confidence on lumpy rocky climbs.

IMO the Switch Infinity platform is the best all rounder going for traction and making you feel like you're a much better rider than you actually are. Not the best choice if you like routinely riding through slop obviously, but otherwise great. Keen on that new six bar LT, but don't have the insider trading skills to be able to buy one.

Man the 575 was my dream bike for all those years I rode a 26" Giant Reign. I think a YETI in turquoise is still one of my dream bikes. I still go hunting for an SB66 from time to time.
 
Back in the old glory days of CRC there were some 575 frame sets on there a couple of seasons old that were super cheap. I was very close to pulling the trigger I think, and they hung around for a bit too.

Man CRC brings back memories. We all used to put our orders in all together to make one big order. When I was working in a LBS my boss was shocked that CRC was selling Shimano chains (etc) cheaper than what he bought them for.

Yep, a mate of mine, let me order stuff through his bike shop's Shimano account (it made him look better too) but CRC, Ribble, and even Jenson USA prices were always better.
