My old ME7 shoes are getting pretty long in the tooth and have been an excellent pair of shoes. They are relatively water resistant, they dry fairly easily, they are good for hike a biking, and have been very comfortable and hard wearing. I had two pairs of the previous M200 and they were pretty good and the ME7 was and upgrade to them.

Seeing that Shimano have replaced them with the GE9, has anyone bought them or have something similar to the ME7?

I really don't like the Velcro strap, as Velcro just doesn't last and the old ratchet system was bulletproof.

I've got a set of GE900 waiting for cleats, should probably do it.
Likely have my first ride in them tomorrow.

Let me know when you find something as I've got a similarly vintage set of ME7s that are going to be up for replacement soon
 
Following with interest, I'm running shoes from 2005 still. I keep buying new, hating them and going back to the old ones. I can't keep doing it though because the toe box will fall off soon, I already have to stop and shake the stones out pretty regularly!

Well I happened to check Bookface Farceplace and low and behold, a guy I know that lives 10 minutes away was selling a pair of basically brand new ME7s for $150.
The were one size smaller than what I had but I thought I'd at least try them on. I think they will do as I am kind of in between the two sizes.
Haven't had a chance to ride with them yet but, worst come to worse, I'll just sell them.
