Anti-freeze you need to get the propylene glycol type from what I've researched. Or just get windex apparently. Which is cheaper anyway.

i used green antifreeze - ethylene glycol 960g/l diluted to recommended 1:5. Added thickened liquid latex from e - about 500 ml and then plain water to the 'right' consistency in a 2 litre milk bottle. bio glitter leftovers from many kids parties and the rubber grinds, also some strands/fibres of string (from fuel hose).
i read someones recipe that said dog hair as well...
 
Get out from that rock you're apparently living under. Glitter in homebrew sealant is as old as homebrew sealant! It's bits that help fill holes.
 
I don't want to sound like a sook, but if the latex is $45(inc delivery) for 1000ml, aside from the joy of having unicorn sharts coming out of your tyres I'm not sure that it's worth the effort? Do we need to buy a 200L drum collectively to drive the price down?

The time that I spend making this special mix up could be better spent googling bikes I don't need and watching funny cat videos.

Yeah the delivery bit sucks, but when you factor in that you can make 3-4 litres of sealant for around $70-80 it's still bloody good value.

Apparently dress-up/makeup/costume stores might have the liquid latex, I couldn't find any near me so went with the Barnes option.

Hey! Its not a rock, its a crusted up lumps of glittery latex. It just looks like a rock with all the dust and fur stuck to it.

Would etylene (or propylene) glycol react with alloy rims and nipples? One reason i wasn't going to use windex was because the ammonia can react with alloy rims and nipples? I think someone mentioned this some time ago here - not sure which post number.

Also, which of the glycols that is less toxic? i think it was the etylene?

The propylene glycol is the more environmentally friendly one. On mtbr the yanks talk about using RV Anti-freeze because it is propylene glycol.

Propylene glycol can also be food grade. Found this online. A bit more expensive than the Anti-freeze I bought though.

What's the long term review on this concoction? I'm out of Stans and need to do something. Is the unicorn jizz still inside the tyre or are there sparkly stains all over the trails?
