@Cardy George's tyres are 63" wide, hence the 160ml

In 17yrs of tubeless, I've never measured the amount that goes into a tyre, just pouring till it looked like it would do the job.

Same rim diameter (622mm). neither tyre actually measures 700mm or 29" externally.

Thought you were time-poor? The more you put in, the longer it takes before you get a flat because you forget to check.

Pure chance i happened to note the marking (80 ml) on the measuring cup i stole from kitchen and thought i had better give an amount. Science bitches.

Also a Stans mini bottle is approx 60ml so x 2 is about perfect. It can't hurt to go 3 x I guess!

That said I've not had a big hole that's needed sealant to work that I know if, but perhaps that's the magic of sealant, it works so you don't need to know

I find the standard 60mL bottle ample for a 559 x 58mm tyre (26 x 2.25" for you non-ISO heathens!).

My bike often looks like its been to a German bukake party when i clean and service. Usually about 5 weeks between wheels out and scrub down. Went through 2 litre bottles of store bought (Orange seal/joes/muc off) last year.

A mechanic at an LBS farther out from us claims that he's ridden all over Smithfield trails and that tubeless is a waste of time and offers no advantages over tubes.

My method of checking if there's enough sealant is that the tyre starts to go flat after a day or so and I can't be bothered pumping it up anymore. Only then will I put some more sealant in it.

If you have good selection of tape widths and valves, its a 20 minute job to tape, valve and seal set of wheels.

It only takes one flat with a tube swap on the trail to make it worth the setup in the comfort of your garage vs the mess around mid ride.
