Read First! - Posting News

Due to popular demand, we're going to make our news submission system a lot more transparent and accessible to our members. This will make it easier for us to get more news, and make it faster to put up.

Before we all get too excited, I need to outline some rules.

1) Whilst submissions are taken via the forum, we have much tighter rules on what we will accept as news. Read the front page, it'll give you an idea of what we put up. Keep in mind that this is a forum targeted at the general Australian MTB population as well as some international guests. Your weekly club news may not make the cut. Race results, coming events, industry news are all things we're interested in.

2) Keep posts short and to the point. If you have a lot to say, put a brief summary about the news item and link to the appropriate location (another thread?) where the rest of the information is.

3) Keep it clean (formatting), and use your spell checker! We try to keep a professional image here, using some simple english and formatting skills goes a long way to adding credibility to a post. Using sms and abbreviated English will undoubtedly get you no where.

4) If your post is not used on the front page, the moderator will post a quick reply with the reason it wasn't used. If your post is used, it will be moved into the main news area (which in turn will show up on our front page).

5) Images/embedded videos may be no wider than 450 pixels. It will break our front page! Also keep the news titled short as this will do the same.

6) No commercial advertising!!! This will get you an express trip down ban lane.

That's about all I can think of at this time. We look forward to seeing your submissions and hope this will help move the community forward and make Rotorburn more useful than ever.
