Do you really want your kids waking up at dawn when it's at 4 am. I think a lot of parents blame the problems they have with kids that are because of the longer day on DLS.
Me, I love evening rides and standing around the barbie with a beer and enough light to cook.
And not having to get up for a sunrise fish at 4am!

I'd rather they go to bed early and wake early. The problem is not the kids, the problem is conforming to societies wants.
DLS doesn't make the day longer, you can thank the tilt of the Earth for that.

Interesting article.

I have never liked DLS, and I dislike it more now that I have small kids.
Personally, I'd be happy if it was abolished.

Daylight savings is backwards. It means the majority of workers leave work at sunset or in the dark during winter, but it's still daylight until 9pm in summer (and dusk until around 10pm). I don't have kids but I imagine it's not easy getting them to go to bed when it's still 35 degrees and daylight outside.

I for one would love an hour's extra light in the winter evenings, and I'm sure all the people that start work in the small hours of the morning would appreciate it getting darker an hour "earlier" in the summertime. But that would effect the turnovers of pubs, clubs and casinos, so it's probably not going to happen...

So you think kids should be going to school in the dark and tradies have to wait for light to start work. The day is only 9 1/2 hours long in the middle of winter.

I told you I don't have kids! (Hadn't thought of that in others words...) :p

Still reckon DLS is summer is a waste of time (No pun intended...).

It's a small price for them to pay for my own personal convenience.

Extra couple of smokes in the shared tea room. Sorted.
I'm surprised the concept of a tea room and smoko still exists. Very quaint and civilised apart from the potential of a lung tumor.

Surely one of Len McCluskey's crowning achievements.
